Wharton Management Club is a student-run organization at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Our mission is to expose the undergraduate community to opportunities within the field of management, both inside the classroom and beyond. To do so, the club hosts speakers, professional networking sessions, professor luncheons, experiential learning events, and other events.

Governor Markell will speak about his current career highlights as Governor and State Treasurer of Delaware, and his past experiences that include a senior management position at Comcast Corporation, a consultant at McKinsey and Company, and a banker at First Chicago Corporation.

Come this Wednesday to hear Mr. Silas Chou speak about his experiences turning Michael Kors in to a $1 billion international fashion powerhouse within a decade, his strategy behind Ralph Lauren’s international licensing deals, and how he helped build Tommy Hilfiger in to a worldwide retail phenomenon. 

Mr. Silas Chou, recently joining the international billionaire ranks after taking Michael Kors public in November 2011. Michael Kors is recognized as one of America’s pre-eminent designers for luxury sportswear. This brand name currently produces a range of products through Michael Kors Collection, KORS Michael Kors and MICHAEL Michael Kors labels. His past management experiences with companies include Sportswear Holdings Limited, Tommy Hilfiger Corporation, Novel Enterprises Limited, and International Textile Group.

We’re proud to present our upcoming event, the Healthcare Entrepreneurship Panel. This Wonderful Wednesdays at Wharton event is being co-hosted by Penn Undergrad Biotech Society and Wharton Undergraduate Healthcare Club.

The Panel will take place on Wednesday, November 9th at 6:30pm on the 8th floor of Huntsman Hall. It will feature the founders of three healthcare start-ups:

Steven Nichtberger, former CEO of Tengion
Baruch Ben Dor, CEO of Infrascan

Andrew Wylie is a Partner in Nabarro’s Funds and Indirect Real Estate group, who specialises in the establishment, operation and restructuring of a wide range of alternative investment funds, including debt funds, hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds. Andrew advises on a range of investment vehicles (both onshore and offshore), such as limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, companies and trusts. He also advises on carried interest arrangements and co-investment plans.

Andrew advises a variety of stakeholders – fund managers, members of management teams and investors in funds. Recent areas of Andrew’s work have involved establishing private equity, debt and hedge funds, advising an international investment management group on the restructuring of its investment management, governance and remuneration arrangements, and a private equity professional on the structuring of carried interest arrangements.

Andrew is recognised in the Legal 500 for his investment funds expertise. He is regularly quoted in the Financial Times and has assisted industry bodies in lobbying the FSA, the Treasury, the European Commission and various other organs of the European Union about the AIFM Directive.

Andrew is a member of the FSA’s Legal Experts Group, which seeks to facilitate the successful transposition of the AIFM Directive into UK law.

Andrew is actively involved with the BPF, EPRA and INREV and often speaks at industry events. Andrew has also written the chapter in Tolleys on UK open-end investment companies.
